Francisco Gomez
"Congas/Coro"

Francisco Gomez, whom has come to be known as “Panchito”,
grew up in the city of Perth Amboy, NJ.  Music was always a part
of his life, but he knew very little about his culture.  While
attending St. Peter’s college, he met a young singer who inspired
him to delve a bit deeper into the possibilities of learning music.
He then attended the Jazz Institute at Rutgers University.  Among
the list of instruments he chose Latin Percussion.  Specifically, the
Congas.

The second he touched the drum he knew he wanted to pursue this
craft.  In a short time thereafter he ventured out to local clubs,
breaking into the scene by receiving his first break with Conjunto
Galaxia.  Francisco then attended The Boy’s Harbor Conservatory
for The Performing Arts where he learned technique and basic
reading.  Since his start he’s played with Proyecto Clemente,
Constelacion, Combo Latino, Sazon Con Clase, Toque Final,
Rutger’s University Salsa Orchestra, Conjunto Caribe, Son Del
Pueblo, Alvare and The Balance Project by K-Banger.

Panchitos talents are many, ranging from Conga, Bongo, Timbal,
Bataa to Clave, Coro and Dance.  He is efficient in the following:
Salsa, Merengue, Son, Songo, 6/8 patterns, Mozambique, Bomba,
Plena, Charanga, Mambo, Bolero, Rumba, Yambu, Guaguanco,
Columbia, Bossanova, Latin Jazz, Calypso, Babalu, Coocoo,
Rumbayesa, Manjonny, Hip Hop and Funk.
